10× World Champion. Chief Fueling Officer at Fuelin. 🐐
We’re proud to have Daniela Ryf, widely recognized as the GOAT of women’s triathlon, as part of Fuelin as our Chief Fueling Officer. Known to fans as the “Angry Bird” for her fierce focus and unstoppable drive, Daniela is a five-time IRONMAN World Champion and five-time IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion, one of the most dominant and consistent athletes in endurance sports history.
Beyond her unparalleled racing career, Daniela has always been deeply curious about how nutrition and fueling shape performance. She studied Food Sciences & Management at HAFL (School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences) in Switzerland and has long explored how precise fueling can elevate recovery, performance, and longevity.
How it started
Daniela and Scott Tindal, Fuelin’s Co-Founder and Chief Nutrition Officer, first connected over their shared passion for nutrition and fueling. Their conversations revealed a mutual belief that nutrition is the foundation of performance, not an afterthought.
In 2024, Daniela met Jonathan and Scott, the co-founders of Fuelin, in person at IRONMAN Kona, and the connection was instant. She loved what Fuelin was building and saw the potential to help athletes everywhere fuel smarter and perform better. The rest is history.
Role at Fuelin
Daniela brings her champion mindset and deep understanding of performance to Fuelin, helping shape the evolution of our product—particularly how it adapts to women’s unique physiology, health, and fueling needs. She’s also a regular guest on the Fuelin Sessions Podcast, where she joins Scott to share insights on performance, longevity, and the future of fueling.

Calorie trackers like MyFitnessPal record what you ate. Fuelin tells you what, when and how much to eat. It sets daily calorie, carb, protein and fat targets from your planned and completed workouts, gives you fueling guidance for training and race day, and adjusts your upcoming meals to what you've already eaten. If you already log food in MyFitnessPal, it syncs to Fuelin through Apple Health.
Fuelin starts with your goal, body weight, gender, athlete experience level and daily activity level. It then adds your planned and completed workouts, your resting metabolic rate (RMR) and performance markers such as functional threshold power (FTP) and threshold pace. Fuelin estimates your RMR, FTP and threshold pace, or you can enter your own values if you have them. Its recommendations are built by sports dietitians and based on the latest sports science.
Yes. Fuelin imports your completed workouts from Garmin Connect and Strava, so your nutrition targets reflect the training you actually did. You can connect one or both.
Fuelin syncs with TrainingPeaks, Garmin Connect, Strava, TriDot, RunDot, Final Surge, V.O2, HumanGO and Pushing Limits. Your planned workouts set your nutrition targets ahead of each session, and your targets update automatically when your training changes.
Yes. You can add your workouts directly in Fuelin, and it sets your daily nutrition targets from them the same way it does for synced training.
When the world's best triathletes need to perform at the highest level, they trust Fuelin with their nutrition. From IRONMAN World Champions to professional triathletes competing on the global stage, elite athletes rely on our science-backed approach to fuel their success.
