From Rock Bottom to Challenge Roth

From cocaine addiction to a 12 hour Ironman!

And that is not the half of it! Chad Brothers is the man. He has been through it all and some. Despite the challenges he has faced, he has put the work in and got the results. He is not a “Gonna” person, he is a “Doer” person. Big difference between someone who talks about what they are going to do and the person who actually does it.

Chad was having second thoughts about racing Roth a few months out fro the race. He found his “why” by committing to raise funds for Cure SCN2a and Jack Tindal. In the end he raised over USD 10,000 for the charity. Simply incredible.

In this episode:

  • Big man, big goals: At his peak, Chad was 275 lbs. More a rugby front rower than a Ironman age group athlete. By race day he was 225lbs and ready to go!
  • Pushing carbs: Chad is a big guy with a big engine. Learn how 120g/hr was not enough and in the end 150g/hr was the optimal fuel intake. Big!
  • Adversity and set backs: Think it all went to plan? Sliced feet, bike crash and medical tents on the way to 12 hours.

Question for you: Are you a “Gonna” or a “Doer”? Do you blame everyone and everything on your lack of results?
